David Ellis Events Company Overview
At David Ellis, our team of professionals provides all-inclusive event production capabilities including, but not limited to, menu design, staffing, floral design, general rental equipment, entertainment, tenting, and furniture rental. We even cover location scouting, permits and insurance.
Since its inception, David Ellis has donated close to a $1,000,000 in product and services to a variety of tax-exempt organizations in both New York and New Jersey. We believe it is important to support the communities and organizations that have assisted David Ellis Events to achieve our goals in strengthening our foundation.
Our clients have come to trust our team with the most important moments of their lives. We’ve catered, planned, and produced thousands of events for a variety of private, corporate and non-profit organizations in the New York Metropolitan Area, Los Angeles, and Miami including many of the most notable and prestigious individuals in our market.
Over the years, we’ve been honored to participate with many exclusive occasions including Dinner for President Barack Obama, a 700 person DIRECTV sponsored Super Bowl fundraiser, and the most recent Mansion in May New Jersey Gala for the Women’s Association of Morristown Medical Center. From an intimate dinner for two to several thousand guests, our team custom designs each experience and reviews each event, [big or small] equally as important as the next.
Constantly creating unforgettable experiences is what we do. Whether a simple delivery to a new client or an extravagant gala, our family-operated business takes pride in providing each client with an outstanding level of service. We operate out of Berkeley Heights, New Jersey; conveniently situated between New York City and the Fortune 500 Belt of New Jersey.
David Ellis Events would like to thank our clients for their patronage over the past decade and we look forward to creating many new relationships. We have enjoyed bringing a part of what we love to you.

How much will my event cost? Why do you want to know my budget? Why are you so nosey?
Every catered event is different and requires a detailed review to determine the correct outline to fulfill the requests of the client as well as the requirements of efficiency and standards from the on-site David Ellis team. Although there is no standardized pricing, we do our best to pre-estimate costs for our clients, discuss their expectations on budgets, and collaborate to find the most appropriate manner to provide a successful event. Generally speaking, however, the sky is the limit… So if we don't have a budget in mind we won't know where we have limitations and are unable to provide educated suggestions to our clients.
Do you have menus posted on your site? I just want to order from the corporate menu for my Christmas dinner.
This menu is reserved for our Corporate Clients only. All menus for Private Clients; albeit for catered events or deliveries are custom designed and priced based on detailed conversations with the client.
Who is David?
The name David Ellis is derived from the middle names of our founders & brothers Jonathan David Peters & Chad Ellis Peters.
May I hire your staff to serve food from a different caterer? May I use my own servers/bartenders?
David Ellis Events invests quite a bit of time & money training our staff to ensure that our clients are provided with the best possible service level and enhancing the brand of David Ellis Events. We do not provide staffing in the New York Metro Area for events catered by other companies. But if you just need staff for butlering, we’d be happy to accommodate. We do, however, provide staffing only from our Satellite offices in Miami Beach, Florida and Santa Monica, California. Additionally, when providing catering services, our insurance policy prohibits the use of client-hired staff when our staff is present.
Do you offer tastings?
Tastings are offered for Mitzvahs, Weddings, and Galas/Fundraisers for a cost.
What is your minimum?
We don’t have a minimum or a maximum size event. Costs can however become cost prohibitive for smaller events.
I called an hour ago. Where is my proposal?
As we custom design all proposals and receive dozens of proposal requests per week, we prioritize our workload based on the time-period that an event is actually taking place. We do our best, however, to send proposals within 7 business days.
How much notice is needed to schedule an event?
Most clients begin the planning process 1-2 months in advance of their event and sometimes 6-12 months in advance for larger occasions. Planning more than 12 months in advance usually increases costs. We have the ability to accommodate any request even if it is one day in advance, but an expedited process may increase costs as well.
